bio

Jerod is a self-taught filmmaker based in Charlotte, NC, drawn to projects that tell rich, human-centered stories.

Raised by missionary parents, he spent his childhood moving through small indigenous villages across Mexico. By the time he left for university, he had relocated fourteen times; an experience that shaped his sensitivity to culture and connection. This upbringing continues to inform his work, infusing each project with empathy, texture, and nuance.

Since 2018, Jerod has worked full-time as a freelance filmmaker, creating both commercial and documentary work and collaborating with brands such as The Salvation Army, Amazon, Lay’s, Maverick City Music, Delta Beverages, Healthy Human, Nutramax Laboratories, and more.

He is currently developing two independent feature films. His debut feature, Like and Subscribe, completed production in 2024 and is now in the final stages of post-production. His second feature, Painting the Lake, wrapped production in the summer of 2025 and is currently in the editing phase.
